DeLorme Earthmate PN-30
DeLorme's Earthmate PN 30 is an intermediate model. This will be a lower cost alternative to their successful recent introduction, the DeLorme Earthmate PN-40. The PN-30 will basically be the same unit, minus the tri-axial electronic compass and barometric altimeter. Earthmate PN-30 is also the codename of the new GPS system made by DeLorme, which some people might consider to be the big brother of the PN-20.
Thanks to the SDHC memory card slot, the small navigation system can read 32GB of data, while the internal (flash) memory offers space for 500MB. The TFT screen measures 2.2-inches and can display 65 thousand colors - according to DeLorme there shouldn't be any reading problems even if the light conditions are bad.
On top of the usual USB 2.0 interface, the Earthmate PN-30 features a dual-core processor, and uses Topo USA 7.0 as the software which includes a lot of street maps. Also displays USGS 7.5-min quads, aerial imagery, and NOAA nautical charts via online download from DeLorme.
