This is also helpful because it shows your places where if you use your AAA card, you get discounts, which is always nice as well. Some of the POIs are also interactive and their icon shows up on your GPS map. You can then touch the icon to see a phone number and address or touch the icon to instantly route you to the location.
SayWhere text-to-speech directs you by voice, naming which way you go and what street you are on for any route in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This is a great feature because instead of saying “Turn right in 55 feet,” it will say “Turn right in 55 feet on XYZ Road.” This is helpful because it prepares you for what road you are supposed to turn on. Otherwise you would have to look at the screen and that can be distracting while driving.
You can choose your route by staying on freeways, away from freeways, shortest time, and shortest distance route to customize how you reach your destination. If you choose to go towards an address or a searched POI, it is easy to get there using the new Quickspell technology that gives you intelligent choices based on what you are typing in to be on route to your location quicker! If there is ever a situation where you need roadside assistance you can touch the tow truck icon on your GPS and you will instantly have access to information for the nearest AAA-approved roadside assistance. You will be able to see the address and phone number for the company and also your exact address so that it is easy for you to say your current location for your roadside help.
To easily and conveniently find a route home from wherever you are, there is a Home icon on the Magellan Maestro 5310. You just type in your address and save it to the icon so you only have to touch the Home icon whenever you need a route home. The map on the Magellan Maestro 5310 comes in two options for viewing, either 2D or 3D. That way, you can choose which option is easier for you to view your map. The map also automatically adjusts when it is night time in color and contrast so that it is easier for you to see in the dark.
