Garmin nuvi 755T
The Garmin 700 GPS lines are excellent options. All you have to do is to find the unit with the best features for your specific needs. The Garmin Nuvi 755T is definitely one of their best product. The improvements made in this model are quite significant. Not only is more slender, but it also features a much more innovative interface. Like for example - instead of seeing your directions on a map, you see them in 3-D real photo. This makes your navigation much easier, especially when you're on the highway.

The design of the Garmin Nuvi 755T is a step above the rest, especially in terms of its sleekness. With its tinny dimensions, the 755T is small enough to fit in your hand or pocket. And this is important, because sometimes you you'll need it when you're on the go. In the vehicle, even though the system is small, its 4.3-inch touch screen is still large enough for normal interaction. Even better, the display is completely anti-glare, adjusting itself according to the current lighting conditions. So if it's dark outside, the 755T will turn on its backlight to increase visibility. In contrast, if you're driving during the day, the 755T will adjust its color profiling.

The 755T displays everything in a widescreen format. This means that your viewing area is actually 70 percent larger than what you would see on a typical 4.3-inch screen. As a result, your route becomes even clearer, especially if you decide to view your map in 3D mode. In terms of overall layout, only one button exists on the device. It is the "On/Off" slider switch located at the top of the 755T. No other buttons are available since the touch screen takes care of everything else.

The 755T also has two other external hookups. One allows you to connect a flash card to the device, while the other lets you connect headphones. In addition it has photo-realistic mapping views, integration with Garmin Connect, speech synthesis, a media player, an FM transmitter, preloaded maps, Lane Guidance, integrated traffic receiver, Hotfix Satellite prediction and Garmin Lock. Thanks to the 755T's Lane Assist feature, you have two viewing options for your maps. The first one is a true "photo-realistic" view. It enables you to see where you are on a "virtual" highway. Take a look at the pic below to get a better understanding of what I'm talking about. The second view is not as extensive. It shows your location on a 3-D map.

More Features:
Garmin Connect allows your 755T to operate on a more entertaining level. With this feature, you can control your navigation by photographs rather than menu options or mapping labels. To get these photographs, you can download the ones off of the Garmin Connect website or you can simply add your own.

Speech Synthesis
Speech synthesis is the process of producing artificial speech. And, in the case of the Garmin Nuvi 755T, speech synthesis is used to verbalize your directions. But don't worry, the voices used by the 755T are natural and easy to understand. In fact, they are so useful, you may not even need to read the text on the screen.

Media Player
The media player included with the Garmin Nuvi 755T allows you to play MP3s and audio books.

FM Transmitter
The FM transmitter allows you to hear your 755T's MP3s or audio books through your vehicle's stereo system.

Preloaded Maps
The Garmin Nuvi 755 comes with preloaded maps that will guide you through more than six million points of interest (also known as POIs in the GPS world).

Lane Guidance
The lane guidance feature works well in the 3-D Lane Assist view. What happens is that you will be alerted to the exact lane you need to go in before you are expected to turn. Signs that do not relate to your current navigational path are faded out, so there's no confusion.

Integrated Traffic Receiver
The traffic receiver allows the Garmin Nuvi 755T to notify you when there are incidents that might affect your navigation. And, unlike other GPS systems, the Garmin Nuvi 755T includes these alerts free of charge. In addition, if there is a traffic tie-up, the 755T will alert you to alternative routes. It will even give you re-routing directions, if you happen to get lost during your trip.

HotFix Satellite Prediction
HotFix satellite prediction is a fancy name for a feature that is amazingly simple. With this feature, your Garmin Nuvi 755T saves all of its previous satellite locations. So, if you pull up these locations again, the loading time is significantly reduced.

Garmin Lock
Garmin Lock is an anti-theft feature that is automatically built into the Garmin Nuvi 755T. It works by disabling the device if an inappropriate pin is entered. So, ultimately, the system is useless if someone happens to steal it.

The conclusion is pretty obvious. The Garmin Nuvi 755T is your GPS of choice. That's because it's one of the few systems that displays directions in a realistic format and its regular mapping features are highly innovative. If you are the type that prefers an ad-free environment, you may want to consider using another system. However, keep in mind that other GPS systems will charge you monthly fees for traffic alerts; the Garmin Nuvi 755T charges you nothing. Plus, you also get access to the Nuvi's more unique features which are not widely accessible on other systems. So if you don't mind the ads and the expensive price tag, the Garmin Nuvi 755T is highly recommended. Not only is it portable, but it is also trendy, both in function and design.
