DIRECTV offers international programming to customers seeking
programs from different regions worldwide. To add an International A
La Carte Package, customers must have a base package ($9.99/mo. and
above). To view international programming, customers must have an
International services dish, which is slightly larger than other DIRECTV®
dishes, and gets programming from different satellites. More than one
dish may be needed, based on the programming requests. Customers
must also have a receiver compatible with these satellites.
DIRECTV provides international programming in languages for a variety
of international cultures, including Arabic, Brazilian, Caribbean, Chinese,
Filipino, Greek, Italian, Korean, Polish, Russian, South Asian, Ukranian
and Vietnamese. DIRECTV offers multiple packages for each of these.
DIRECTV offers local channels in most major U.S. cities and their
surrounding areas (eligibility for local channels based on service
address), always in digital quality. Some customers can also get one
or more additional local stations from nearby cities.

Today DIRECTV offers local channels in more than 140 metropolitan TV
markets-that's about 94% of the country, with more to come. They are
also currently working on launching HD channels in many of these
markets and preparing new satellites that will allow us to launch
additional markets next year.
Under federal law, DIRECTV can provide local channels only within a local
television market. For example, they can provide San Francisco stations
only in San Francisco and surrounding areas. Federal law requires to
respect the local TV markets boundaries, which are established by
Nielsen Media Research.

When you get DIRECTV installed, the technicians are required to run a
phone line to each and every receiver. This allows you to access Pay Per
